Mother’s day was fuuun! We had steaks, mashed potatoes, salad and, for dessert, I made red velvet cupcakes with cheesecake frosting. We had a lot of fun. Talked a lot and played Mario Kart on the Wii….as usual I WON! haha! Love spending time with the family! Every party we have is never boring!
Today, the older gals wanted to go out for dinner and I insisted I come along to see what they talk about when the kiddies are away. Unfortunately, no gossip! We went to Old Port Lobster Shack in Redwood City. DEEEELISH!!! Located here:

I would recommend the New England Clam “Chowdah”, Lobster Bisque, & The Maine Lobster Roll. YUMMMY!!! As usual, I forgot to take pictures. I’m useless!
Tomorrow, I plan to re-organize my jewelry supplies. I’ve gotten the bug again!!! Will take some pictures of some of my designs!

I made the pesto pasta yesterday. I have to admit…I think it came out REALLY well (I forgot to take pics again! I’m making it again so will post then!). The best part was that it didn’t take that much time to make….maybe about 15 minutes. Here’s how you can make your own pesto pasta…I followed a recipe from SimplyRecipes.com and then added my own little flare:
Fresh Basil Pesto Recipe
- 1 packet fresh Organic Basil Leaves
- 1 cup freshly grated Parmesan-Reggiano or Romano cheese
- 1 cup extra virgin olive oil
- 1 cup pine nuts
- 6 medium sized garlic cloves, chopped
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
Instructions:
Combine the basil with the pine nuts in your food processor. Add the chopped up garlic and blend together with the basil & pine nuts. Slowly blend in the olive oil in a constant flow while the food processor is on. Add the grated Parmesan cheese and pulse again until blended. Add a pinch of salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste.
I then boiled my pasta (for best taste use, Trader Joes’ Spinach & Chive Linguine Pasta. Makes about 4-6 servings) and lathered on the pesto. You will have about a cup extra of pesto that you can store in the fridge for later use. Done!
Let me know if you use this recipe and how it turns out!!!

So…today I made dinner for my Mom (Dad’s out of town). I’m been dabbling in cooking since I’ve been unemployed..it’s fun! So far, I’ve made spicy tuna hand rolls, miso soup, chicken fajitas, and shrimp fajitas with fresh homemade guacamole.
Today, I made crab cakes for appetizer and for main course: sun-dried tomato & basil chicken and mushroom risotto. It came out well. Mom enjoyed it!
Sunday, I’m planning a roast with pesto linguine. I’ll let you know how it turns out and take some pics!
Anyone have any recipes they’d like to share? I love to try new things!
In other news, I’m hecka sore! I wanted to try something new at the gym so I decided to take a Yoga class. BAD IDEA! It was advanced x20 Yoga. I DIED! Plus, I could barely understand the russian psycho teaching it! NEVER AGAIN! I’ll stick to working out on the machines and doing Yoga on the WII Fit. I’m so sore I thought my appendix burst. It hurts like a MOFO!
Tomorrow, I get to see my sis! I miss her!!! I haven’t seen her for 3 weeks. Lots of fun this weekend!!!

So everybody that knows me well knows that I LOVE LOVE golas espcially Kala Khattas from India. If you don’t know what a gola/kala khattas are, click here. Well, look what a gola stand in Bandra has done to market the golas. They’ve named their stand, Gogola – modeled after the popular search engine, Google. They even create it from mineral water, making it healthier than most stand’s selling it with tap water (not good for non-resident indians). Now, maybe Mom will be more comfortable with me satifying my gola cravings! Yay! 🙂
